I know that when you burn fat your breath can become bad.  I had this problem when I went on the Atkins died about 14 years ago.  For those of you who've had WLS and have had bad breath, what do you do for it?  I am thinking chewing gum is out as it may cause me to swallow too much air.  What about chewing mint or drinking herbal tea?  What have you tried that works?  Please share.  Just wanting some ideas.  Thanks in advance.

I found in the weeks immediately after my WLS I was constantly sipping water, or nibbling on food to get it all in. Didn't find I had breath issues (or perhaps those around me were too kind...haha!).

Maybe you could try those listerine breath strips or if they still sell it that bianca breath spray? Or try putting a little lemon into your water

Oooohh lemon water - that might work.  I wonder if chewing parsley would work too?

My breath was horrible from day 2 in the hospital. I couldn't get that terrible taste out of my mouth and it didn't matter what I ate or drank it did not quench my thirst or get rid of the smell. I keep a steady supply of sugar-free gum and mints (sour/cinnamon/mint) near by. I had no issues with swallowing air and chewing gum was never an issue. My dry mouth was helped along with sugar-free Mr. Freezies.

Good luck, it gets better...I promise!
