Hey guys, I have a question about the B12 supplement. Everytime I take my B12 supplement I feel awful. I take my B12 pill everyotherday. I end up vomiting about 1 hour after I take it. If I don't take it I feel great. Any ideas or help on what I can do? Thanks

If it is a pill you are swallowing, maybe it's too hard on your stomach. If so , I would switch to the B12 strips that melt on your tongue or the sublingual tabs that melt under your tongue. I would stop taking what you have it it makes you vomit every time! Good luck!

You an try a different form, or try a different brand.  I know that I "dump" on certain multi-vitimins, but am fine with others.  You could be reacting to an additive that that brand uses.

Good luck,

Sorry for this slightly off topic question ;)

My centre never mentioned separate B12 to me. The encouraged me to take a prenatal instead of a just a mutlivitamin.

Is it a certain centre that encourages it, or is on a person to person situation depending on your blood work?

I think it's more which centre you go through.  There isn't one set of rules for them all.

Thanks Cathy!

It's a little unsettling isn't it ;)

Makes you wonder what we might be missing.

I agree - I have always wondered why each centre has it's own rules when the surgery is the same.

i plan to take the b12 shot monthly... Is that an option for you?

I take a sublingual B12 tab - a tiny, tiny tab. It's like a chewable but you put it under your tongue while it dissolves, which takes about 20-30 seconds. It's flavored. I was told not to take a regular B12 vitamin as it can't be processed with my new RNY configuration.
