I got to change my surgery date!!!

Hi There. I hope you don't mind, I'm new to this board and to WLS. I just found your post and see that you are with TWH. I just got my "welcome" letter last week and I have my orientation on August 20th. I've heard stories about waiting up to a year and half to get to the actual surgery date. Have you done anything different to get to it in 5 months from referral or are you just one heck of a lucky duck? 

Also is Optifast a must here in Canada? I been reading lots and it's not mentioned alot in the US blogs I'm reading.
