Got my date! Hotels for St Joe's in TO?
Hi everyone,
It's almost go time! July 7 at St. Joe's in Toronto with Dr. Sullivan. I'll have to go to TO a few weeks ahead of time for a pre-admission and to pick up my opti. So happy I'll only have to do 2 weeks of opti.
Can anyone suggest a half-decent hotel near the hospital? Thanks!
Referral: Jun. 11/13; Orientation: Jul. 24/13; SW/NP/Dietician: Nov. 2013. Sleep test Dec. 2014. Sleep apnea diagnosis Feb. 2014. 2nd sleep test Mar. 2014. Psychiatrist follow-up Mar. 2014. Congrats...I had surgery there a month ago with Dr. Lindsay. Depending on what your plans are, there's a hotel immediately east of the hospital, although I didn't stay there. I did stay downtown at the Strathcona for a few nights, and it was a short walk to the streetcar (504 I believe) which takes you quite close to the hospital.
Started Optifast April 8, 2014, and had surgery May 6, 2014 @ St. Joe's, Toronto, Dr. Lindsay
If you have an idea on what hospitals are close by - check out travelpony.com - they seem to be cheaper than the big site (expedia, Travelocity etc)

Orientation at HRH - Jan 13, 2014. 1st Meeting with Surgeon (Dr. Klein) & blood work - Jan 30th. Sleep study - Feb 5th. RN, Dietician & Social Worker exams - Feb 25th, Internist - April 9th. Dr Klein -April 23rd,PATTs Sept 2nd, Surgery, Sept 16, 2014, Opti Starting Weight - 343LB (Aug 26th). Surgery weight 315LB CW 215 17-Aug-2015)
Had my surgery there too but stayed with a relative the night before. However did not get good reviews of the Howard Johnson's right neat there as the area is not the best.

Thanks for all the info. Lots of plans to iron out, can't believe I'm a month away. Every time the panic starts to rise I just remind myself that lots of prep has been done and I have lots of support. Just breathe....
