Waiting for my date

Saw the surgeon today in Ottawa. Got my prescription for the opti fast now waiting for the actual surgery. Any Ottawa people out there?  If so how long from your visit with the surgeon till the surgery date???

Congrats on seeing the surgeon.. I just had my surgery on

May 23rd and I saw Dr. Mamazza on Feb 7th to sign paperwork.   I heard some people saw surgeon in march

And they are being told to expect surgery in August.

I saw the surgeon March 6 and got a date for the end of June. I also saw Dr. Mamazza.

I saw the surgeon on march 18th.  No news yet and the WMC closes for 2 weeks in July.  So my surgery will likely be in August.

Ottawa is painfully slow to give a surgery date right now.  Seems to be about a 3 month wait from when you meet the surgeon until you get a date.  People who saw the surgeon in March are still waiting for a surgery date.  Surgery date itself is estimated to be in August.  It is really slow so be prepared to wait. Right now there are several of us waiting for a surgery date who saw the surgeon in March.  I sincerely hope that Ottawa corrects this problem soon so that your wait is a more reasonable one. Best of luck to you.

I saw the surgeon in April, and my surgery date is next Friday.. I didn't have a very long wait.

When were you referred?

My timeline is below, but as the others said, at the moment, things are slow in Ottawa. At the end of the fiscal year, they had pretty much finished up all the surgeries they could somewhere in Feb or early March, so there were a couple of months of 'lag time' I think. Many people now are being booked for August. 

Regardless, you are soooo close! Just hang in there. Keep on trucking and enjoy your summer as you prepare for this most awesome tool to be given to you!
