Slider Foods- a good reminder

Some of the high protein slider foods are important early out. Sometimes, they are the only way to get stuff down. It is later on that I think they pose a significant problem.

Yogurt is okay to eat. It has protein- especially if it is Greek yogurt and even better if you can tolerate the plain yogurt and add berries or other low sugar options to it. The problem is that it will not keep you full like a piece of chicken breast will. I bet you could eat a boat load of yogurt at a year post op and feel hungry again only a short time later. Yet if you eat roast chicken pieces you'd be fuller quicker and it would take much longer to empty from your pouch.

I'm just saying, that if the mainstay of your diet is comprised of soft foods like yogurt, etc....then when you are able to eat more (eg. 3.5 years out), this an pose a significant problem.

You'll never feel full eating like that and you'll adopt a "grazing" habit and believe me....you can consume a lot of calories when you graze all day. It's better to eat 3 solid meals of dense protein that affects the "tight" feeling in your pouch within 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food.

Could the same be said about those foods pre-op?  I know I tend to overeat all of those foods, whereas stuff like meat and veg fill me up fast and for a lot longer too.
