Sick while on Optifast - urgent advice required

I've been feeling ill all day.  I had to come home early and when I got home I threw up.  I've only managed one shake today, though I've managed to sip water consistently through the day.

I'm really not hungry, but should I force myself to have all four shakes?  Surgery is in 7 days.

Help!

Thanks in advance.

Forcing the shakes could make you even sicker. I would just focus on keeping hydrated. You will be able to go back to them by tomorrow probably. The shakes are just meal replacements.

I woulf just focus on getting enough fluids in to keep you hydrated until tomorrow by then you may feel better. Or you could do vhickenor beef low fat broth.  When you feel ok go back to the optifast.  :-)  feel better soon  Val

You don't need to force the shakes, as others have said. Just focus on staying hydrated. Tea, water, broth, crystal light, etc. Whatever you can keep down. I had many days where I did not have all 4 of my shakes. There is nothing magical about the shakes, they help you lose some weight/shrink liver via restricted calories.

Hope you are feeling better today!
