Morning all

Up since 2:30 so I feel like I'm halfway through the morning already. Insomnia. Is. Fabulous.

Had a great time at cawfee last night - SO great to see folks so happy and doing so well. Also such a comfortable feeling to be with others who "get" what we live - no better support in the world and such a confirmation for myself, over 8 years post-op, that I still benefit from giving and receiving support.  All house renos are complete! Now on to the small stuff - art back on walls, new blinds in bedrooms, rearranging furniture, etc etc etc..... it never really ends. :) Taking my parents out for lunch today and working on getting my home back in order.

8 years post-op

B - coffee with cream x several over the morning, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

S - 1 slice toast with a little butter, mayonnaise, sliced tomatoes and 1 slice bacon

S2 - Premier protein shake

L - at Chorizo's Mexican (yippee!) - chicken Fajrito (cross between a fajita and a burrito) in a bowl (no tortilla)

S - leftover lunch I'm sure, cup of chai tea

D - burger with all the fixings no bun, kale veggie salad with a little balsamic, small scoop potato salad

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

K.

I agree Karen - it is wonderfully supportive, even at 3 years out, to share stories and inspiration with our OH friends. It was great to see everyone last night - thanks for arranging.

Work is crazy for the next two weeks - we undergo an annual inspection, without which our accreditation fails - meaning all the work has to stop. So everyone is studiously avoiding chitchat and nonessential activities - a little like being in a classroom during exams for a couple of weeks.

 B - bowl of Cheerios w 1 banana, 1 large coffee

S - 1% cottage cheese w SF applesauce and granola

L - leftover shrimp soft taco from last night at Chorizo's (guacamole - yumm!)

 S - 1 pear, 2nd coffee

D - beef taco salad, 1 glass red wine

Up from my lowest weight, but holding steady at 150 for now.

Had my belated 3 year appointment with the nurse yesterday (and I see Katie, my NUT in July...I separate my appointments, so i'm not taking a full day off work).

I was not pleased to hear that i'm up six pounds from last year. Four of those above goal :-( Some people think my training has put on muscle, but I do know that my eating hasn't been the greatest since my bowel obstruction. Back on the horse again before it gets out of control. So, I want to be at least back at goal by my appointment in July. We shall see!

The good news is, with my increased activity, I have been sleeping much better!!

B: yogurt and special k protein sprinkled on top

S: laughing cow cheese on half a tortilla

L: chicken and veggies

S: protein coffee

D: steak and salad

Hi all. Loved seeing everyone last night. It reminded me that I still need to check in regularly and surround myself with people who know the battle. Going to try to find time to post in this thread everyday as a start.
At 3.5 years out I am struggling. I've regained 23 pounds to date and I've had enough. HENCE....today I will start the 5 day pouch test to try and break all the old habits that have crept in and to find a bit of a "reset".

All that being said, my menu is very boring for the day! LOL

Pouch Test: Day 1
- 2-3 protein shakes
-sugar free Jello or Pudding as needed
- clear broth or cream soup as needed
-LOTS of water
-all my vitamins

Thanks Karen. I went right out after coffee group and made sure I had stuff to stock my fridge at work, so I wouldn't cheat. I'm actually feeling quite relieved to be taking solid food "off the table" for a bit and might see if I can push the day 1 &2 regime and try it for 3 or 4 days provided I am feeling well. It feels fantastic to have a goal in place and to be working proactively at it instead of sweeping it under the rug and pretending everything is okay!

Thanks for the encouragement!
