ricotta cheese

I found a recipe where you make the lasagna noodles by making a scrambled egg in a pan. Make the egg extremely thin. Let it cool. This becomes the lasagna noodle. Put in ricotta cheese and spices. Roll up. Pour sauce over with a touch of mozzarella cheese. Bake in oven like lasagna and enjoy!

why are you supposed to have it? There is cottage cheese instead. I just dont understand why you would HAVE to eat it if you dont like it. That kind of thinking will drive you to eat bad things= just my opinion

On my list there is cottage cheese which I eat snd really like and also ricotta cheese which im not fond of plain.  I dont have to est it if I dont wantto but im trying to broden my horizons.  So I thought if ingot some ideas as to what to do with it  I might learn to like it.  Variety is the spice of life they say.  Thanks

I googled recipes for ricotta and there was a yummy looking one where you stuffed a zucchini with it and baked it, maybe when you have time google it, all the best to you!

Ricotta is one of my favorite protein resources, and at 28g of protein per cup, it's worth its weight in gold.

  • Add some parmesan and tomato sauce then top with melted cheese for the best part of lasagna without noodles
  • Mix with SF instant pudding, then beat in enough milk or cream to get desired consistency (Ricotta fluff)
  • Add a little sweetener and vanilla then some pistachios and choc chips for cannoli filling.
  • Add egg and a touch of flour for ricotta pancakes

I'm 12 weeks post op and into the delightful puree stage... LOL.

I don't like refried beans.  I don't like ricotta cheese.

HOWEVER, fat free refried beans and low fat ricotta cheese warmed up and mixed together is quite good!  PLUS lots of protein with both!

Try it, you might like it!  I don't cook so two ingredients zapped in the microwave is right up my alley :-)
