So I picked up a watermelon and I cut it up two days ago and I swear I'm totally addicted to it.

I will be 3 months post op on the 11th. How bad is it for me to be eating? It's the first thing I've had since surgery that I can't seem to get enough of. Hope I'm not sabotaging myself with this guilty pleasure :-/

I love watermelon too, the thing you have to watch is the sugar it has, unfortunately per 100 grams of water melon there is 6 grams of sugar.

I love watermelon as well.  But im only 15 days post op so I am not able to eat it yet.  It is mostly sugar and water maybe the reason you cant seem to get enough is that maybe you are lacking in fluids could this be a possibility?   Just a thought.  :-)   Val

I've been eating 200grams almost daily for the last week or so. I don't really worry about the sugar cause its not refined sugar, its natural sugar so the body processes it differently. ( At least that's what I am telling myself lol)

The only issue is it may cause some people to dump. I know I can do 200 with no problem, but not willing to test any more ;)

Whenever I eat fruit I don't feel well. I am sure it is the "sugar" content. I try to avoid it as much as possible. Even when I go to a hotel with a restaurant with juices and I think I can I have a small glass or sip I feel like **** right afterwards. It is not worth it.

At 3 months out I would be worried about getting protein into me than watermelon.  You never said if you were getting enough protein and your veg. Plus your water intake.

Thanks to everyone for your responses.

As for highlandbear I was simply asking a question abou****ermelon and didn't ask for you to assume I wasn't getting my water, protein or veggies in. Thank you for taking the time to post your 2 cents worth.
