GUYSS!!! HELPP!!! I'm looking for the calcium citrate that I need after surgery, in the chewable or liquid form. I'm just wondering where you all bought yours? Because.... I can't seem to find it anywhere! I've found it in tablets, but not in the liquid or chewable. All I can find is calcium carbonate?!

Help!?

Costco has both liquid (Wellese brand) and tablets. Very inexpensive as well.

For chewable calcium, you can use the Jaimeson chews for the first 3 months post-op. Then you need to switch over to the citrate kind. You can find the Jaimeson chews pretty much anywhere, Walmart, Shoppers, other drug stores, grocery stores....etc.

And, as someone else mentioned, you can use Wellesse liquid if you prefer.

Our dietician at TWH said you can't get citrate in chewable form, so carbonate was fine for the first few months.

If you have your handout from HRRH it's on page 20. List brand name and where sold.

I just buy the regular tablets at Costco and chew them up. They are chalky but have no taste.

The other alternative is to order Bariatric Advantage products online or Celebrate or Building Blocks.

I bought the wellese liquid from Costco and I found chewable ones from Your Good Health store.  They are a combination of citrate and maleate.   It is supposed to be absorbed better than citrate alone or carbonate.  They also tasted pretty good.

im really confused as to what kind of calcium to buy.. I know citrate is better absorbed.. but im allowed to have the carbonate after surgery?? Why not just start the citrate right away? Or are we on carbonate for a reason in the beginning?
