If you're a Costco member, they have tons of rain boots. At least, they did the last few times I was there - you never know when they're going to run out of something and not get more in.

That's exciting about your daughter! It will be great for her to have you as a support since you've gone through it already. Is she having surgery or just doing an opti program?

She is doing the Opti program.  She is only 23 and they feel she hasn't made any serious attempts at dieting - I agree.  I hope she does well. I have already prepared her as much as I can - and it is exciting!

Morning Barb, Glad you got a new fitbit. I read a post by someone who said  Every year after surgery, it takes less calories for me to maintain my weight.  At two years out, I could eat 1800-2000 calories a day and stay the same.  Now I have to stay between 1200-1400 or I will start gaining.  Ignoring the scale is what will get me into trouble.  I weigh every day.

That has me a little scared. I am only suppose to eat 1200 now due to age and inconsistent exercise. What will I be able to eat at 5 years?

I guess I will have to see when I get there.

b greek yogurt, go lean cereal, raspberries

s carrot hummus

l salsa chicken, source yogurt

s pure protein bar

d omelet with ham and peppers, salad

s laughing cow, crackers

I was good last night and even though tempted did not have wine.

cal 1123, carb 106, prot 99.7

I remember being told that I will not be able to eat more than 1,000 calories for the rest of my life. What? I try to stick to 1,200 daily, regardless of exercise. I think our metabolism gets so screwy from surgery that we do end up having to have less calories to live off of....forever, to maintain. But then, the set point theory comes into action. After our malabsorption is done, we should lower calories to maintain at our lowest. Most of us can't do that, so our bodies will settle themselves about 10 pounds higher than our lowest. Comfortable for some, uncomfortable for others. It can be a slippery slope for some, and a huge head game for all of us. Losing was easy, maintenance is a ***** Heard that term from so many vets....and it's true.
