Had my surgery Wednesday.  The first night and most of the day post surgery I was very nauseous, but then around 4 pm I just felt better.  The hospital staff at the Ottawa trauma unit were awesome.  Got to go home today and so far so good, but I think I am lactose intolerant. so now am making the second shake with Lactose free milk.  Much better.  No sure I can get more than two shakes down today.  See how the rest of the evening goes.  All in all happy the surgery went well and it was nice having other to share the experience with who also has the surgery the same day or so.

For all you veterans is Gas normal when you first start the liquid diet?  Hoping it is.

If you had your surgery on Wednesday you probably still have gas in your system that needs to get out. Walking will help a lot, so get up and get moving! Every little bit helps.

Milk has a lot of sugar in it, so maybe it's the sugar you're having the reaction to rather than the lactose. Just a thought to keep in mind.

Congratulations on having your surgery and I wish you a speedy recovery!
