4 days until surgery in Ottawa and also question on after surgery Migraine meds

My surgery is Wednesday.  I am excited....

Also a question for anyone who has migraines.  I have had mine since I was young (and Skinny), so will have them after surgery also.  Currently taking Relpax, but I think it is hard on the stomach.   Any migraine sufferers who can suggest migraine meds they now take after RNY surgery?

I am not post op, yet, but I too suffer from migraines.  I take the imitrex injections.  I've been cleared to keep taking them post op and because they are injected they don't bother your stomache.  If you can't tolerate the self injecting (it's like an epipen) there is a nasal spray, which I have not tried.  I take the injections because I get very sick with my migraines and anything I take orally just comes back up.  I don't know if this helps or not, just a thought.

Hi Kelly my surgery is the same time, same hospital!  I take topamax for my migraines...I take it everyday with no stomach problems. Hope your surgery goes well!

You also may find your migraines are less frequent post surgery........

I used to suffer weekly....likely some rebound migraines from meds....
