Mio/Water = Heartburn?

For the last month or so, I have been getting a burning sensation in the back of my throat after I drink water, or water with Mio or fresh lemon. Anyone else out there have the same issue? I still drink lots, but it's annoying.

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

nope but I have the same sort of reaction along with feeling like I swallowed a scouring pad when I would drink Crystal LIght...so I don't drink it anymore.

Odd. that it happens when you drink plain water as well.

Have you tried other SF types of drinks...maybe it's something in the composition of the MIO itself...and it's carried through to when you drink the plain water?!

prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.

I took a Zantac yesterday and it sees to help. I had no issues today, so I'm wondering if it was just a fluke for a week or so? I have no problems whe. I'm having my pre-run workout drink (a powder added to water).

I got heartburn when I drank Mio as well.

I sometimes have heartburn from plain water. It was actually worse before WLS. I use a britta to filter some of the chemicals out of it. I also get it really bad from some bottled waters.

I have to be careful of what flavour I drink. Some are worse then others and yes I have had the same issue with plain water.

I don't like water in general so I really struggle to get it down.
