Since I started the Opti in January, I've lost just over 50 lbs, and 27 lbs since my surgery date. I'm down a clothing size or two and I've lost more than 40" total. All great things!

My husband works evenings and frequently, I'm asleep by the time he gets home, because I get up at 5:15 a.m. to start my day. Anyway, last night, I went to bed as usual, and fell asleep. When he came home and came to bed, he curled up and (sorry for the personal detail...) 'spooned' me, wrapping his arm around my waist. And he fell asleep.

He told me this morning that on two separate occasions last night, he woke up and for an instant, he wondered, "Who the hell am I sleeping with?!" before he realized it was me! He said by the second time that happened, he finally turned over to face the other direction! His brain couldn't wrap itself around the fact that it was still the same woman in the bed!

I thought it was too funny! We had a good laugh about it this morning! I guess even his subconscious is used to the larger version of me!

That's a fantastic NSV! And a great story! I guess we all forget that it's not just our journey and adjustments. Our spouses have to go through their own adjustment period.

Like your situation my hubby works from 2 pm to 130 am everyday and my day starts at 530 am so we really are two ships passing in the night. We don't see each other from Monday to friday. And a week can make a whole lot of  difference for us new (and old) WLS patients. He got up b4 I left Friday morning before I left for work and I was relaxing and he had to take a double take and said "where did my wife go?!?" Lol then he  said I'm melting away! I asked him if it was ok? He said yes of course (I'm so lucky he's been so supportive) he said he knew it was going to happen but he said he just didn't think it was going to happen soo fast! I had an "Awwww" moment for him. It made me realize it was our journey (and my daughters) not just mine!

Surgery January 6, 2014!
