Period Post Op
Just wondering how long it took for your period to be "normal" again. Before surgery I was regular to the minute, and now even with BC it's got a mind of it's own. Dr's keep telling me it's because of the rapid weight loss (142lbs) and that there's nothing I can do about it. I've having a hard time buying that.

I am almost 4 months post op... still waiting for 'normal'.

There are a lot of people that have thier period go a little wonky. Part of it is the release of hormones from your fat stores, and the stress on your body from the surgery. Both effect your cycle. It will settle down, but it may take a few months until your body settles down a bit as well. Just becareful when you are intimite, pregnancy is easier now, and the pill isn't as effective for that part (I'm waiting to see if it helps with other symptoms).

Yeah, I'm 11 months post op and feel this should have resolved itself by now. I cycled (took BC continuously for 3 months at a time) for 10 years before I had my surgery and NEVER had an issue (I was obese the entire 10 years). Now I can't even get it back to a regular 28 day cycle let alone cycle.

My experience is backwards ... before surgery I would get it maybe 2-3 times a year... since 3 month post-op it's literally every 28 days/heavy flow for about 4-6 days. I hate it. I'm 44 and can't wait for menopause :-)
Have learned that I can't measure my journey only by what I've lost. I've gained health and extra time on this earth ... that is most important 
I had an endrometrial oblasion 12 years ago and would only spot - it was a non event.
Post op - huge cramping that wakes me up. Heavy for one day and then back to the spotting.

Before surgery mine was no problem at all ..After surgery i started getting it every 21 days..That settled and went back to every 28 days, but the last few months my period is VERY heavy...I am 8 months out and hoping that it will settle down soon...Krista...
