I did post op for a few weeks. Its from sitting more than you usually would. It will go away once you are more mobile.

You are losing weight off yyour butt. This will adjust as you lose. For now carry  pillow if it gets really bad

Sometimes that is residual pain to nerves  from having surgery, laying on the operating table and hospital bed. Hope you feel better soon.

I started having tail bone pain about a month out, I think from losing fat in my butt ;) Still hurts when I sit in movie theatre seats, but I can drive without pain. You'll re-learn how to sit eventually but as someone else said, consider sitting on pillows if you know you have to be sitting for a good length of time!

Referral May 2013 / orientation at TWH June 27 / nurse practitioner July 3 / social worker August 19 / nutrition class August 26 / nutritionist August 30 / psychologist September 3 / meet surgeon (Dr. Penner) September 20 / PATTS October 10 / Surgery October 18 2013!

Everyone goes through this.  Your bottom is used to more padding.  It will evenually get used to the reduced amount.  Until then, use pillows and try to sit up straight (most people have bad posture without realizing it).

Don't worry... it is common.  I had tail bone pain when sitting, hip pain when sleeping.  Your body will take time to adjust to not having as much padding.  I was sore for my first year as the weight came off and exposed more bones.
