Thanks for all of the support everyone. My timeline: Saw the surgeon at the Weight Management Clinic, Ottawa Civic on Dec 3, 2013. Received the call today, Jan. 24/2014 with my surgery date of March 20th, 2014. Hope this is helpful. My advice is to advocate for yourself. I called a couple of times and could not get the answers I was looking for. On Wednesday afternoon I called again and was put through (after some coaxing) to the NP and she looked at my file. She said she would follow up with the booking clerk the next day (which would have been yesterday) and today I got the call. Don't be afraid to follow up. It is your health and things do go over looked sometimes. Best of luck to everyone and I hope those waiting hear something very soon! :)

I agree totally about following up - it can make a difference and even if there is nothing to be done you will feel more in control.  When were you first referred to the registry?  I am just trying to get an idea of the total wait time as I am at the beh/nut stage at the moment.  Thank you!

Highest: 320, Surgery: 255 (Aug/14), Lowest: 132, Current: 167, Goal: 155

I was referred to the Bariatric Registry in November 2012, I had my orientation at the RAC - HDH, Kingston, ON in April, 2013. I then had several appointments with the dietician, Social Worker. Waited 6-7 months for an endoscopy (Had that in Oct 2103), Took 3 weeks for results, and once they got those my file was ok'd and sent to Ottawa (November 2013). I went to my pre-surgical class Dec 2nd, 2013 and Went to Ottawa to meet the surgeon on Dec 3rd, 2013. Received the call fro a surgery date yesterday, Jan 24, 2014, for a surgery date of March 20th, 2014. So in total it will have been 18 months. That being said there were a couple of hold ups in Kingston due to clerical errors and being sent to the wrong clinic for sleep apnea. They way I have looked at it is you could wait this long or longer for a hip replacement or some other kind of surgery. I think it could be a bit more organized and timelines explained a bit better. But overall not a bad experience so far. Good luck and I hope your journey is less timely than mine! :)

Thank you so much for the information, it is really helpful to see that others have gone through frustrating times too. You are one patient lady :0)  I hope you are right about the wait not being too long but only time will tell I guess.  Reminds me of that song by Tom Petty called "Waiting is the hardest part".  lol It really is!!

Congrats!!! I saw the surgeon in Ottawa on Dec 10th, so am going to give them another week and then will give them a call. I am anxiously waiting my surgery date! Hopefully i am not far behind you:) For the other Ottawa folks interested in timing for Ottawa, i went to the Orientation Feb 2013 and saw the Behaviorist and Dietitian 3 times, had a scope, bloodwork, psychologist, pre op class and Surgeon Dec 10th 2013. I had already had most of the medical testing done and was already a patient of Dr.Dents but it's a long process.

Orientation Feb/13- Scope Dec/13- Surgeon Dec/13-PATTS-March/28th-Surgery-April/28th/2014
