Ok, so I have been feeling horrible the past two days (I will list the symptoms below) and I'm not sure what I can take.    Since surgery i have have not been able to swallow pills (I have to cut melatonin pills in half). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!    Right now it feels like my sinuses are going to explode, but I can't blow my nose :-(  I keep coughing, which feels like I have glass shards in my throat.  When I just got up to go to the bathroom I was light headed :-( And I feel like I have a fever...    I HATE being sick...

There is a horrible cold going around right now. Sleep seems to be the best thing for it as well as lots and lots of water. I hope it passes quickly.

Feel better!

Lots of liquids (will help thin the mucus and keep your blood pressure up).  Put vicks on your chest (will help unclog your sinuses) over night.  Have a humidifier running at night.  Try a hot shower (steam can help).  As for the cough, sugar free cough drops like Fishermen's Friends help.  Or any sugar free candy really (keeps the throat moist).  For the fever, I've seen some take children's liquid tylonal or crush a non coated tylonal.  Make sure you're eating as well (I know it's not easy when you feel like this).

If you can tolerate it, you could try a neti pot for your sinuses.  Not sure how much it helps, but some swear by it.

One thing I've found that can help with the clogged sinuses is a bowl of steaming water with a few drops of eucalyptus added to it. Basically, cover it and your head with a towel and breathe in the steam. As for the very sore throat, sometimes gargling with sal****er can help. Sleep and chicken soup. Good luck, sounds yucky!
