13 months post op progress (pics)
So.. just over 13 months ago I had RNY gastric bypass at St Joes Toronto with Dr Sullivan. I never in my wildest dreams imagined I would be buying myself extra small tops and size 5/6 pants.. what the what? I eat well, 4-5x a day (small protein based meals), take my viatmins religouisly and stay active with Kickboxing and other stuff. I recently had a hysterectomy (2.5 weeks ago) and am already back to work (today) The surgeon wanted me off 4-6 weeks (wtf?) and I requested only 4... ended up returning after 2.5 lol... I am a machine! My next goal is to work on my "beach body" ie: toning my legs and arms as much as I can? Squats, front kicks to spartan bows, upper cuts, jabs and roundhouse kicks, planks and skipping here I come! (soon as the surgeon clears me to return to kickboxing) I will admit that surpassing my goal of 50% loss has me somewhat shocked and even at times worried that I will lose too much weight. I feel guilty admitting that because of others who struggle to meet goal and that I may lose too much and become too gaunt looking. People tell me that I won't fade away and that my body just isn't ready to stop losing yet. I hope they are right! I can tell you that I am absolutely loving this new life of mine. I never in a million years would have thought I would consider myself "thin" "slim" "skinny" or all of the other words that I am referred to. this is such a crazy ride!
ETA: I get asked for advise often about my success and my only advice I can give is to trust the process. As long as you are doing everything you should, trust it. eat right, take your vitamins and move your body. that is all! Don't dwell on stalls. In the grand scheme of things it all averages out in the end. A year from now that stall shouldn't matter. just keep going forward.
Here are a couple progress pics of me taken over the last month. I tend to take a lot of "selfies" because this way I can see how i look and let's be honest, I am still amazed at my new self!
