Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well.  I've had some rough eating days lately, so I'm planning out my menu today (lots of leftovers) and hoping to get back on track.  Luckily, almost all the holiday junk is gone, except for some cookies I'm saving for a couple of get-togethers we're having this weekend and next weekend.  Off limits!

Today: taking the car into the shop to fix the passenger side mirror which got knocked off during the ice storm by falling branches while parked. I'm also going to take a walk to the veggie market and pick up a bit of produce since I'm running low on a few things.  One of my new year's resolutions is to cook more at home.  And I've done so! Made a big ham a few nights ago, and have tons of leftovers.  So yesterday I made a split pea soup with a bunch of cubed ham, and it turned out really well.  My kid is a fussy eater, so that's difficult - he won't eat anything like pea soup, so that will be a challenge for me as I try to cook healthy stuff for the family.

1 YEAR POST-RNY

B - 1/2 cup light ricotta/vanilla/splenda mix, plus 1/2 cup mixed raspberries and blackberries

S - 4 pieces of leftover golden dragon sushi

L - 1 cup of split pea and ham soup

S - 2 clementines, 8 saltine crackers topped with 2 cheese slices

D - Leftover chili shrimp and spicy tofu

S - 1 cup of skim milk

TOTALS: 90g protein, 31g fat, 110 carbs, 24g fiber, 1151 calories

Have a great day, everyone!

Happy new year, everyone -

starting to post again, post-holidays. I was SOOOO bad this season, gotta get back on track.

Walking in to work this morning at minus 24 degrees (1.5 kms today) was an interesting start to the reboot of my exercise regimen. My cheeks forehead and fingers were the coldest parts of me. Took awhile to un-redden and get feeling back in them. Cannot imagine how the homeless are coping.

B - bowl of oats, 1/2 banana, large coffee

S - 1% cottage cheese + granola and SF applesauce

L - 2 turkey bites, 4 crackers, 1 apple, 21 g cheddar

S - protein bar, 2nd coffee

D - Cobb salad w chicken, egg, cheese, ham

20 months post-op, holding at 150 lbs

Good morning Michelle. I have been going for walks to the beach each day this week. It is just too cold to go near the water today. So I am going to force myself out but maybe a walk through the cemetery. Not as long but at least it is a walk. Hubby works tonight so I will have to take him out tonight. Not looking forward to this. I am having a ham this weekend just so I can make ham and lentil soup. I love this for lunches. Enjoy your soup. Right now I am working on a turkey soup I made. I do not always like turkey soup but this recipe was good.

b greek yogurt, granola,

l turkey soup, cherries

s mint tea protein shake

d left over chicken stir fry.

s cranberry crackers

cal 894 carb 89, prot 79

Calories are low but I have left space for bad stuff that might creep in

That cemetery near you looks so interesting. Sounds like a good walk to me. Enjoy! I love turkey soup, but I tend to put a lot of that Maggi sauce into it. Enjoy your soup too!

I just got back from driving hubby to work and then dropping the car off at the auto shop.  I know I'm being wimpy, but I didn't even want to take a 10 minute walk to the veggie market! Oh well, I'll get up the gumption at some point today.

Just came back. There are a lot of old trees in the cemetery and a lot of downed large branches. Looks like some of the trees will have to go. My eyes would not stop watering so have ice on the inside of my glasses. Dress warm out there!

Good morning!! mail

Gosh! I am having an extremely LAZY day! I haven't really got out of bed yet, except to make a coffee earlier, and I just made breakie but hopped back into bed! LOL. Breakfast in bed for this gal today!

I have a few things to do today but if they don't get done, that's ok!! There's always tomorrow. I need to take my shakes back to Costco, I just can't drink them, lumpy, ickyness! I love these shakes and I will get more. I never have had a problem in the past returning them. I also need to find out from my piercer (Yep! I have quite a few) when she thinks it will be good to trade out my piercings for my surgery. I also have to check the mail for my birth certificate; they said I would get it before Christmas and still don't have it. I need it to change my SIN card and update my passport. They said the one I have is INVALID. And, I have to do my domestic goddess duites around the house :)

If I don't get called into work today, I am planning on going to a coffee night in Scarborough, I may have some nuts for a snack.

I have decided to do a version of the 5dpt starting today. I say a "version" cuz instead of following the 5dpt, I like to do a lower carb menu. I will make some jello and some "high protein" pudding. I have some soups, cream of mushroom and some soup that I made the other day for the freezer. I also have some chili in the freezer too.

I am going to make a meal plan for the next 9/10 days and try to lose about 5lbs before my PS. I am pretty confidant that I can do this!

coffee

B- 2 scrambled eggs w/40g shredded cheese

S- oh yeah protein bar

L- leftover ham dinner, this is it! then end of the ham dinner. 2oz Ham, 2 spoonfuls each of mashed carrots and mashed potatoes, spoonful of corn and peas and wee amount of stuffing

S- fibre1 bar .. it has 7g protein

S- nuts ...maybe

D- the plan is to go have dinner with my hubby when he gets done hockey, I will likely have soup and maybe a chicken wing; if they don't have soup I like then I will have a side salad

S- not too sure, if I manage to get some jello and/or pudding made soon, then I may have one of those, if I'm hungry

I am going to try to drink more water today, after another coffee! Getting in all my vitamins.

I'm not counting and doing totals; I have a pretty good idea of the numbers. As long as I keep the carbs lower that's all that matters to me.

Have an awesome day everyone!!

BELOW GOAL        Happily maintaining 4.5 years out!!   Life is GREAT!!!  Had my plastic surgery!
