Hey All!

Hope everyone had a fantastic christmas and new year!! for all you pre-op patients..2014 is our year!!
One question i have for the people that have had surgery at HRRH... My appointment with Dr. Glazer is in a week, and I was wondering if there were questions that I should specifically be asking him ? What exactly is Dr. Glazer's position in the bariatric program??

Thanks!

-Michelle

Dr Glazier is the one who says whether or not you can have surgery or not basically. I didnt really ask him anything because I had been through so many pre-op appointments before I ever met him.

He likes to make sure I think pretty well everyone has had a sleep study done. Otherwise its a quick appointment

Good morning and Happy New Year Michelle. I am still pre op as you know but I believe Dr Glazer makes sure we are medically cleared to go through with the procedure. He will order tests etc if he thinks that there is something medically wrong and rule it out. He also makes sure there is no sleep apnea ( if not diagnosed ), I have heard he sends just about everyone for a sleep study to rule it out.

I researched him and found out that he is also the Medical Director on the Bariatric Team at Humber.

Prior to meeting with Dr Glazer one of his nurses took my blood pressure and did an ECG (conveniently right in the office). During my appointment he asked about sleep apnea, reviewed my blood work and recommended some changes to my vitamin intake. He basically wants to make sure that you're fit for surgery and nothing has fallen through the cracks. He may send you for additional tests if necessary.

He makes you wait a long time, seen him 3x now. He procrastinated my surgery well over a year now still waiting.Too busy to pay a lot of attention just dictates everything and hardly talks to you.
