Alternative To Optifast?

Hello Everyone!

Just wondering what the alternatives to Optifast are for people who can't tolerate milk based products and stay clear of aspartame? I know some surgeons will agree to a specialized diet instead of the shakes, but not all.

Anyone have this issue and went through Guelph?

Thanks!

To get a "pass" on optifast, you will need a well documented allergy.  If that is the case, you'll be put on a VLCD - very low calorie diet.  Mostly chicken and salad.  I've had a few friends do that.

I was through HRRH and did a high protein pre-op diet instead of Optifast. Optifast is lactose free, but discuss with your dietician if you have other medical/dietary restrictions, there are options.
