It sounds like you've done a ton of soul searching to come this decision, Michelle!  It's important to have room for other things in life besides work.  I'm at a similar crossroads myself right now - work is definitely getting in the way of the rest of my life!

Thanks Julia. I'm kind of lucky in a way because I have the old job to go back to and it is a good one too. I think you have moved to another company though, right? Best of luck figuring out what you need to do to make it work for you.

Thanks!  I love the company I'm working at, but do need to find a way to balance my life a bit more - there may be other options down the road which is good. Glad there's a light at the end of the tunnel for you!

Well, just finished shovelling snow for 40 minutes and I am totally wiped out :0(

Anyone else having a rotten time with the white stuff?  I procrastinated over the last days or so and now have a huge job to do - like 20-30cm bad.  Plan to break it into 3 sessions to keep from re-injuring my pulled rib muscle.  Got half my laneway done so that is good.  Need to warm up with some hot food and drink, so:

Brunch: Cottage cheese lemon flax pancakes with pomengranite on top, hot peppermint tea

Snack  Cyrstal light apple martini (yum btw), small apple, 4 little cheese funshapes

Dinner:  Mushroom soup or leftover crockpot chicken,  grilled cheese made with betty light bread

Snack: Sihouette or source sf greek yogurt, hot tea

Thinking of maybe making some almond flour cookies - we shall see.  I am hugely craving hot food at the moment.

Hope everyone is staying nice and warm...

Actually, I'm quite enjoying shovelling, strangely enough. I've been seeing it as an opportunity for exercise. And I have also been marvelling at how easy it is for me to do now. I barely break a sweat and do he neighbours' walks on either side too. Also, I've told my husband in no uncertain terms that he is NOT to do any shovelling, as he is in his 50's and my grandfather died snow shovelling. Very common for middle aged men, especially ones who are not in great physical shape. Breaking it down into a few sessions is a good plan. Don't injure yourself! Take care. :)

Good afternoon :-) We went to Merrickville yesterday to have our Christmas with my family. It was a not very nice drive. We stayed at a bed and breakfast down the street from my sister. Niiice place :-) They made us a yummy breakie then we got ready to leave. Stopped by both my sisters houses to say good bye to them and my my mom. We are now on the 401 and it's a hairy scarey drive. My hubby is driving and I can feel he is a bit nervous and that neeeverrrr happens!! Gonna be a loooong drive back to Newmarket. Just saw 2 completely jacked knifed big rigs that were abandoned. Not gonna be a good day of eating today, I think. I am toooo nervous to eat now. We did have breakie, eggs bacon toast and some fruit. I ate a cookie my sister made and I have a protein shake with me. I took my vitamins. If we stop at one of the onroute service stns, I might have soup. Have a good day everyone

Not a good time to be out driving eh?  Just take it slow and easy and you should be fine - and expect delays.  Tim Horton's has some yummy soups and teas to warm you guys up.  Glad to hear I am not alone in hating this snow/ice...lol
