Employment Insurance?

I don't have sick benefits through my employer. Am I eligible for EI while I'm off work for surgery and recovery? Thanks

Yep you can apply for EI sick benefits with your note from the doctor saying you will be off for xx number of weeks due to surgery.

You will need your note but also your ROE from your employer to file for sick benefits.  2 week waiting period and it lasts 17 weeks total.

Also for sickness benefits, they can waive the waiting period but you have to ask.  Your employer has 5 business days to give you your ROE or they can submit electronically.
