So happy

I finally got my date. I am so happy and a little scared I must admit. I am going self pay as the wait here in B.C. is 3-4 years. I have been reading on this forum for awhile and you are all so great at answering questions etc.. I really have learned alot from all of you. Just wanted to join in now as it is getting close:) Thanks to all of you for helping me figure this out a little before proceeding. 

Good for you! What is the cost in BC for self pay? Would you be able to have surgery through the Ontario program with follow up in BC?

You have to be an Ontario resident to qualify for OHIP-paid surgery. Time for BC to get with it and follow Ontario's lead!

You can't do self pay in B.C. unless its for Lapband. I am going to Montreal for the surgery. don't think they will pay for me to have surgery in Ontario, they just tell you to wait.

I called a Surgeon in Burnaby and was told I would have to wait as Bariatric surgery is not a priority. That was when I decided to go on my own search. I am hoping to just get a referral to a Dietician here.

Yay!  Congratulations!  I hope you have enough time to get all your tests done, because I felt super rushed (but I did it!)! :)

Thanks  It will be a busy month. My gastroscopy isn't until Jan 7th. My GP had to ru**** but he got it. At least it won't give me too much time to think about it:)
