Discouraged

I have been in this process for approximately 3 years now (without surgery) and have lost a substantial amount of weight and greatly improvedf my health because of it.  It is the weight loss that leads to the improvement of health....That's why they call it weight loss surgery. It has been one more tool I have used in my weight loss journey. I have not fallen off the wagon but if someone else i know did i would certainly show a little compassion and positive support.  As far as your helpful support thank you.  As far as mental toughness and discipline  goes.. you have no idea what I have been through in my life so i suggest you keep that comment to yourself. I said I was disappointed NOT devastated.

I have tried to be supportive of people in this forum, not judgemental...you may say this is giving it straight up.....I say the second half of your comment is more about yourself.

Again thank you for the positive aspects of this comment.  Remember...sometimes less is more.

Firstly let me apologize to you.

I had absolutely no intention of making you upset.  for that i am sorry.

The way i read your post suggested to me that being 6 weeks out and not seeing the results you wanted was causing disappointment.  Being at this for 3 years i would think you would know that the scale is a nearly pointless tool and you should be using how clothes fit and body measurements to better gauge your success. we all know that muscle weighs more then fat. therefore making the scale a less then ideal way to tell how much you have really lost.

As far as falling off the wagon goes.  I was merely trying to prepare you for this.  So many have fallen off.  the true success is what you do when you do.  Does this mean you will fall off?  there is a VERY slim chance that you will not and if this is true then i will be the first in line to applaud you, shake your hand and gladly admit i was wrong.  The statistics show otherwise.  Its human nature to screw up.

You are also right about the second half being about myself.  I am FAR from perfect.  All i can be is me.  I have been at both ends of the spectrum with regards to WLS and the ins and outs of it.  I just hope people can take my advice and not make the mistakes i have made.

In closing I wish you perfection. If that is not possible then i wish you the best of luck.

This too shall pass!  I'm one week post op and my body isn't really budging on fat loss.  It's like a tempermental 2 year old, digging in their heels, until they have to succomb to the ineveitable!

It's impossible to NOT lose weight - it will come!  Our bodies all react differently when recovering from something as traumatic as these surgeries are.  They change everything that your body has done over the last 20, 30, 40 or however many years we've been over eating and over weight.

We Will Win!!

Thank you :)  I know I think my body is trying to fight the starvation mode it was in for the first 4 weeks....I couldn't eat dairy weeks 2,3,and 4.  I am sure it will move but it feels good to hear your words of encouragement, thank you again:) I don't feel so alone in my stall :)

I am only 3 weeks out and I think I may have to pull the battery on my scale... I never thought I would be so focused on numbers.  Just keep following the plan.
