Hi, it's summer and I'm still obese but that will change soon. And it will for you too. We can all lose weight, it's the keeping it off that is always the struggle. Someone recommeded a book a while ago.

The Cognitive Behavioral Workbook for Weight Management: A Step-by-Step Program

by Michele Laliberte, Randi E. McCabe, Valerie Taylor

I got a copy from Chapters Indigo and will be going thru it. I know that I want to be a prepared as possible.

Okay, back from a work crisis. totally get the foot pain as I hobbled back to my desk. First thing in the morning, after a long car ride, etc. Out of breath after a flight of stairs, check. Exhausted all of the time, check. We can  all relate.

My surgery is late July. what I have found to be the most help has been a support group. If you don't have on in your area, look into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in your library. Someone else at one time suggested a book called "The Beck Solution". If you can afford it or have health coverage, go see a therapist. Start working on your inner talk now. It's going to take a while to change a lifetime of habit.

I have a friend who lost over 200 pounds after having WLS. I asked her what was the biggest surprise. She said it was how much her head and thoughts changed. As if the pounds coming off were just a bonus. She has kept the weight off for more than 5 years.

You can do it. Concentrate on positive things. Look into the Book of Awesome (you can subscribe to a daily email), The Happiness Project, things like that that are positive. Find the joy in every day. When my daughter was small we started "Three things". At the end of the day, we had to find three things that we were thankful for. A great thing to start with your kid and start putting you in the right frame of mind.

Instead of WLS Failures, spend your time on Before and Afters. I always find that so inspiring.

It's summer, I'm hot. I hate sweating. But that will soon change for me and it will for you too. Hang in there and prepare yourself as much as possible. ((hugs))
