My Surgery Went Really Well!

Hi there,

I'm glad that I could make your surgery seem even a little less scary.  I'm doing really well and don't need any painkillers now.  The pain is very mild.  I'm eating my ''full liquid diet'' with no problems.  And it seems to have worked:  I can't eat too much and I feel no hunger, but I do feel full quickly.

Thank you Krista,

I'm recovering fast.  I have no real need for any painkillers, although I am still often tired (of course I'm always walking too).

So pleased to hear about your experience. Thank you for documenting it so well. It does alleviate some angst for me.

Very happy to hear you didn't have to endure a lot of pain.

I appreciate your story!

I'm so pleased that my post has alleviated some of your angst.  I remember just how much I had prior to surgery.  Having had surgery, I'd say plan for 3 or maybe 4 days that you won't feel A+++, and after that you'll have your pain well-controlled with Percocet, and you might have a nap or two each day.  I find I no longer need the Percocet though.  Things are going very well.

Awesome post Jenn.  Very helpful and informative.  Also very timely for me as my surgery is now booked for April 16th.  Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm sure it will help many of us awaiting surgery.

Thank you very much Sylvie,

I'm doing really great now and have no real need for my Percocet.  I just find I need a little nap a day.

Thank you EternalEx,

I was so worried before my surgery and then after it, I could not believe how 'smooth sailing' it was.  I feel great and don't need my Percocets anymore.  I do still need a nap a day though, but I am doing a lot of walking.
