You would have to ask your case worker, Joy. The panniculectomy is covered by OHIP when medically necessary. I wouldn't think that a tummy tuck would be. And, if we're being honest here, I feel like I might be a little pissed off it were covered for you (not YOU, the general you) on ODSP. Plastic surgery is a want, not a need. Unless medically necessary of course.

I will post pics once the swelling goes down. Right now I have a binder on and you can't tell much difference over the clothes. Tubes came out today...yay!
Dr. Tumi is a plastic surgeon. He literally took care of all the paperwork for me. All he asked me to do was email him pics of my skin/fat on my belly. I didn't hear anything good or bad until his receptionist called me to tell me I was approved and gave me my surgery date.
My only concerns were obviously cosmetic and then I had rashes and a sore lower back.
I would recommend Dr Tumi to anyone! It's only been 5 days and I feel fantastic! Not on any pain meds anymore even.

Congratulations Lisa :) I'm currently in the process to have it done as well, at the same time as a hysterectomy. Don't be surprised when your inbox is overflowing with questions from me. lol

That's great. I hope you heal well and are happy with the results once the swelling goes down. My friend just had the same surgery a couple of months ago and she is loving it. Her tummy looks AMAZING, btw. She lives in the States so it was performed there and covered by her private insurance. Does anyone know how much the surgery would cost here?
