I just wanted to know if anyone would not do it all again and why
ulcers, always in pain and bm issues worse then ever, not being able to take the calcium due to bm issues so i stress n worry for my future just not happy in my skin, ppl always watch what i eat snicker comments behind my back which always gets back to me, so i tend not to eat at any functions. feelings of being alone n just daily struggles, i cant stand the taste of meat
I had a freak and rare bleed in the hospital (was in ICU) and had a really bad room mate (cell phone calls at midnight...WHAT!), also can't handle milk anymore or chicken that well....but hell yeah would sign up again!
I look younger, I have energy, I'm not snoring, I feel like I can love myself again!

I'm only 5 months post-op from my DS, but hell yes I'd I'd do it all again, every year if necessary, for what it has already given me... a normal life. I've gone from 235 to 158 and am a size 10-12. I have energy, and am active and not in pain... and I'm still losing a pound or two a week, while eating lots of good meat, cheese, nuts. The only things I can't tolerate are things I shouldn't be eating anyway - white carbs, though a little bit of sugar after protein seems to be fine (dessert only after the steak!).
That said, I would not have had the RNY. RH, the risk of diabetes coming back, and the inability to take NSAIDs were not things I could tolerate, so much so that if OHIP denied my DS I would have paid the $18,000 out of my own pocket. Thankfully they agreed. If I had felt that the decision was one of imminent life or death, perhaps I would have made a different choice, but being in my 20s with borderline diabetes, a knee injury, migraines, etc. I couldn't imagine dealing with the next 50+ years with the restrictions of the RNY. This is not to say however that the RNY is not the right surgery for some people, it just absolutely wasn't for me. I don't know how much you have researched the various procedures and whether you have an opinion about which is best for you.

I am only 13 days out, but I would do it all again. My surgery went well, but I had some issues with blood loss in hospital and wound up having two blood transfusions. I have found the post-op pain to be pretty bad, but the painkillers do help and I know this is only temporary.
Compared to some, I was fairly healthy pre-op. My only issues were sleep apnea and back pain, but I know as time went on, more problems would likely have surfaced.
I wasn't really living life before surgery. I was doing only what I had to do and avoiding most social situations because of how I felt/looked. WLS is giving me the tools to live a healthier life. It's definitely not an easy route, but I'm glad I did it.
