Need to release stress

I thought once I got my surgery date I would be excited beyond control and a little bit less stressed ..... well yes, I'm excited but a lot more stressed and on edge .... I find myself crying for no reason and yelling or sounding harsh with Hubby for no real reason .... I think a lot as to do with I went to my surgeon appointment think ok I will go in 2 months to get the surgery .. but nope it turned out to be 26 days ... now 22 days ... I'm trying to get everything I need for the pre op Diabetic Boost diet ... things I need to bring to Toronto .... and things I will need for home after ... all that plus had to find a hotel ... hubby book time off work ... look deeper at finances because I though I would have 2 more months to save ... things just keep getting added to my list ... I told Hubby jokingly "Just think I'm not on the pre op diet yet" his response "I think I might just sleep in the transport and ask James to keep me running and no time off until we have to leave" That just might be a good idea for him lol ... anyways thank you for letting me get this out ... I have so much stress and anxiety ... I just want to scream until I can't scream any more

It can be very stressful, BUT - you have less time to be stressed out!  Try to channel your stress into action that will help you get organized.

You can do it!

Thanks Sam,
Today is becoming a better day. I take it one day, one moment at a time.

It is a lot to take in, especially when you get your date sooner than planned (although, that's not a bad thing).  Just a suggestion, before you start your pre-op diet.  I'd like to give you 3 suggestions for right now.

1. Make a list of what you need to do before you go to surgery, put it on paper not in your head.  It will help you to focus and try to arrange things so that you can get them done more efficiantly.

2.  Stop and breath.  Take a day (or even a half day) for you, don't think about the surgery and what you have to do, just take a break.  Have a nap, have a hot bath, sit in the sun whatever you want.  You'll find that when you get back at it, you'll be able to cope with things better.  That mountain will look more like a moehill after a break.

3. Get your hubby to help with the preperations, other than booking time off.  Lighten your load, by deligating to him.

I've ran into the same situation twice now.  The first was a planned C-Section.  I thought  I had a week and a half, surprise, a day and a half and I had a tone of stuff to do, made my hubby finish the list.  Then for my RNY, I was planning on 3 weeks of Opti, and found out I had less than 2 and a half.  Did what I could and got hubby to do the rest.

Good luck with everything!  And Congradulations on your date.

Thanks Cat,
I'm a very organized person I have things in seperate boxes and 101 lists and Hubby is right beside me doing everything and has his own lists. My Hubby is like so few others. He's been with me for every appointment and every step of the way.
I just made a potato salad for my mom (her favourite), brownies for Hubby (his favourite), I love to cook and bake for others. I'm so proud of myself I didn't even lick my fingers. lol.
Everyone here is so supportive I love it. You all help me get grounded again.

 Thanks Monica,
You help get my feet planted on the ground again. I took a mental break and baked brownies for Hubby and potato salad for mom. That's what calms me down the most. I have to take a shower then go for a nice walk with Peanut.
Again thank you so much

I agree with CatW, make a list on paper. Once you have it all out on the paper it will seem less daunting. Less Stuff to rememeber.

Try to group things together that you can do in one place.  Try to think that by august 1st you will be on the bench.

 Thanks Debra,
As I told Cat I'm a very organised person and have it all organised. I just can't shut the brain down at times. Also it's all just sinking in that this is real, no longer a dream.
Again thank you so much Debra
