:) need some info about referral wait time

Just wanted to know how long it took for you all to hear back after you put your  referral in? As i think i have read about a few that theres got lost :( (I am in Oshawa so what H would i be going to ?) TY

Hey Cama. My referral went in at the end of March 2010, and i heard about my first appointment sometime in July. I went to my orientation session in August 2010.

I'll let someone from Oshawa tell you what hosp you'll likely be going to.

also, if I could give a suggestion, put some more information in the subject line, so people know what the post is about.

it was about 3 weeks from the time my dr sent in my referral to the central registry before I received a letter from the assessment centre on February 11th with some orientation dates. After that I had my orientation on March 9th.

This is here in SUdbury, it is quick turn around so far because the centre just opened in December so things are still efficient.

I live in Brooklin.  You will be going through Toronto Western Hospital.  Surgery can be either Toronto Western. East General or St. Mikes.  All before and follow up appointments are at Western though.
My Dr. sent my referal in last May, my orientation was in August and I am booked for surgery on April 25th. So 11 months in total

Welcome to this forum. You will enjoy and learn so much from everyone!! I am in Oshawa too. I was referred last august 18th 2011. Had orientation Dec. 2011. Scial worker and nurse jan. 2012, nutrition class feb. 2012 and was suppose to have the final 2 appts which w are dietitian & psychiatrist march 2012...but we were very sick in my home so they are rescheduled for may 2012. I am to do a sleep apnea test may 26th. Hoping for surgery in august!

my referral went in aug 11, orientation date mar 7 but was cancelled because i was transferred to sudbury in jan,  waiting patiently now to hear from sudbury with a new orientation date
