HRRH said we do not need one. Plus I personally feel it's not necessary. Your family can inform the hospital of your situation if you can't. As well you don't know how you are going to react to sugar yet. Some people don't dump. Best of luck in whatever you decide.

Toronto Western advises to only put RNY gastric bypass on the bracelet if you get one.

well shoot, i didn't know that it wasn't recommended.
My centre or maybe it was someone at one of the support meetings said to get one, so i did.  I wear it all the time, and it's a pain most times.

Mine does say

RYN Gastric bypass
No NSAIDS, No Blind NG Tube
No sugars, No Naproxen

Well thats fine and dandy, maybe i will only wear it when i go out of town.

But i created a nice piece of jewellery out of mine so it's a rather nice bracelet.

You could always just replace the information plate if you want to wear it. Just put "RNY Gastric Bypass" and your emergency contact number on it and nothing else.
