Hi All,

I know some of you had said you were going to do the 5 Day Pouch Test next week

I have done it in the past, but I always feel it is just like another fad diet we were so sick of before LOL

Well, I need to do this I think. since Christmas my carbs have been way to high, I'm having a hard time keeping them under control, and this may be the kick in the butt I need.

So I think it would be a good idea if someone starts a post everyday next week just like the what are you eating thread so we can keep track and support each other

I am really nervous about doing this especially since I am off work two days next week LOL and thats when I tend to go out or order in
I know with the help of my friends here I can do it
So if someone wants to start a thread maybe tomorrow and include the "rules" of the pouch test and then we can start fresh on Monday.
I don't mind doing the thread, just didn't want to step on other peoples toes

I think Tracey (babyjoesunshine) mentioned it first.
Lets see how many people we have for Monday

This is for people who have had surgery some time ago and want to make sure their pouch is still doing the job.
In my case I know my pouch works, I just need to boost my weight loss and cut down carbs

some people believe that its beneficial, there are others who don't think its all that helpful, more like one of those "fad diets" taht we've all done before.

Hi Monica

That's actually how I feel LOL that it is like a fad diet, but it does help to curb the carb cravings. I guess it's all in what you do with it after the 5 days. If you right back to eating the same stuff then it's not really helping(just like a fad diet LOL)

I've never done it, Joyce, i dont mean to disparage you at all. I just wonder what good it really does. i guess if it does work to curb/eliminate the cravings, then its all good, right?

Haha, it's all good. It will just give me that boost that I need.
It is just like one of those diets we used to use to "shrink" our stomachs.

If you don't see me on here next week you will know I didn't have enough strength to type LOL

I know there were a few people, myself included, who were talking about doing this next week and I was wondering if we were going to have a place to check in, or support each other.  I agree that it seems like another fad diet, but I also agree that it is a good way to get back on track if you find yourself not completely following the rules anymore, like I have been doing lately for some reason.

In any case, I am looking forward to it.  Not that I am looking forward to only liquids for 2 days!  But I do want to get back on track with things and it would be great to have virtual support.

My biggest fear, if you can call it that, is having people wonder what I am doing at lunch time here at the office.  Normally I eat with my 2 coworkers and they may question why I am only have a protein shake...I may have soup broth on those days perhaps.

Anyway....I think it would be great if you started a thread that we can check each day and offer or get support from, or ask questions or whatever.

Hi there

You are allowed cream soups as well. You could just people you are low carbing for a week.
This will help us get back on track. I have been having way too many carbs since Christmas.................................

You could make ANY of these soups. No one should question why you are eating soup, it's winter and "you could be cold" and want to "heat up the insides"
