What should out iron be...

Your iron is very low. If you cannot afford iron supplements, as Karen has alluded to this being an issue for you, then speak to your doc about getting an iron infusion at a hospital.

my iron has always been low...ranges from 5-10.....and that is going on almost 3 years..I have regular blood work done..and at one point my doctor mentioned infusion..but it doens't seem to particularly worry him..I have no side effects of being tired etc that are often associated with low iron.

I would check with the person *****ads your labs and see where they want your iron to be.

prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.

 my understanding is that low iron can also be a result of low intake of B12.  I just read the other day that supplementing with iron alone may not be enough to raise iron levels and that there should also be B12 supplementation.  Maybe this is an issue you can talk over with a doctor, a nurse at telehealth or a dietician?
