TWH Cancelation and Appointment Changes?

Hi it's me again with silly questions. I'm wondering does TWH cancel or rescedule appointments often? The reason I'm asking is for booking flights. I just learnt a $300 lesson, never assume all orientations are at the saem time of day on the different dates. I had to rescedule me flight to an earlier arrival and I had to pay a penalty. If TWh is known for changing dates I will have to scedule my flight with Porter as FREEDOM rather then FIRM.

i'm in the final group of appts and haven't had them reschedule any of them on me. The only downside is the last couple of times my first appt was for 8:30 and the first flight into Toronto wouldn't get me there soon enough to make that appt so had to go in the night before and spend at least the one night.

Hello, TWH rescheduled my orientation once already but 2 people from the hospital called to make sure I knew about the change. Then I had called and rescheduled to this week. They didn't seem to mind at all. Hoping it continues on with the appts with no issues. Do you know if they will schedule your next set of appts on the same day or 2 days in a row. considering we all have to travel to T.O.

when you go for orientation odds are they won't have you booked for your next appts as they think you'll do teleconnect. Decide if you want to go that way or keep going back down there for your appts. If you decide to travel they will book you for at least your next appt, I was booked for the nurse and thats it. When I went for the nurse appt is when i got my next 4 appts in groups of 2 which was nice, they were back to back and early in the day.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that teleconnect was an option. What exactley does this mean, how would it work? Sorry having a moment. lol

it means you wouldn't physically have to be there for some or most of your appts you do it online. I believe you would go to Group Health to do it or perhaps they have it at the new hospital as well. I did inquire about it and at the time it added time to your timeline, and they could not give a true approximation of how much time it added, to me it seemed like it might add at least a month to each appt or set of appts. They did advise they are backed up for the teleconnect as there is very few rooms for them to have access to do it.

Thanks again, I think I would rather be there in person especially if it can or will lengthen the process. I waited for 5 months before I got a call for orientation....kinda would like things to move along. It crazy how some people fly through the appts and get a surgery date with in months and then others are waiting over a year before they have the surgery. I guess everyone's situation is different and maybe that plays a part on how quick the process is. Just glad that it has finally started......

That's what i decided as well, the process is long enough without adding more time to it. It seems to be going quicker now though as they are adding team members weekly as the client light grows.
