 June 27 is a lucky date............it was 3 years ago today I had my DS in Michigan.

I'm just a little pissed you're having surgery in Montreal though.  It was supposed to be Miami and I was coming with you, don't you remember!  I was looking forward to wearing my bathing suit on the beach.

Yes, I remember, lol.  Richard did mention Miami to Gagner and he did say that he still had his license to work down there, lol.

Were still trying to re-coup from the last expenses, lol.

Hummmmm, I wonder is disability would pay, lol.

But knowing me, I would end up being down there for another 3 months, lol.

Will you be coming down while I'm in Montreal maybe with a few old friends of ours, lol?

Gagner said I should be released about 3 days after the op, but wants me to hang around for a week afterwards. So we will be staying in a hotel, I will ask for a double bed, possibly 2 bedrooms, if we can afford it, so if anyone comes, they may be able to stay with us.

Oh, did I ever tell you, that way back when (my great aunt told me this) that our family used to own Isle de Montreal (Montreal Island), but the government wanted it and forced my ancesters to sell it, saying either accept our offer or simply lose it................so they had no choice but to sell it............hummmmmmm, I wonder where all that money went, lol or if there is a re-course to getting our land back, lol.

There are 4 of us Ontarians that have been approved to have revision to DS with Gagner. You, Penny, me and Lauren (I have been talking to her mom, Jan). (We all already had one surgery so we're all revisions right?). Anyway, did you get that date specifically or did he say the week of August 14th? Where will you have the surgery at, Rockland Clinic or Hopital Sacre Coeur?

Yes, I never looked at it this way, (revisions)  just figured it was still part of the 1st surgery.

I'm happy that Lauren got approved finally.

Yes, I was told my surgery date is Aug 14th and I have a list of things they want me to do.

I was also told to lay off the 1 daily aspirin effective immediately.

I contacted Ottawa WLS and I am booked for test on July 11 and I am also booked to see the nut, the behaviorlist and Susan all on the same day.

My surgery will be at Sacre Coeur.  Gagner said that I need (anyone having the DS) has to be at a hospital with ICU.......he also said it is the most experienced place to have it. He said the doctors in the WLS section have been doing this for 20+ yrs and we couldn't be in better hands.

I did ask about Rockland from your comments before about not speaking English, etc, and he said that all the nurses speak English so that should not be a problem, and that since I have a basic of French, well that will benefit me as well, but it is not needed. He said the staff needs to know English as they get people from all over the world who come to the hospital for WLS.

He did say that for the last few months, alot of the nursing staff was off  or going off due to maternity leave. Said the hospital or he himself has never heard of so many all be pregnant at the same time..............that is why during the summer it has been so bad and not being able to book anyone.

How is it going for you? Have you been able to extend your surgery date so your still within limits?

I just got the letter from the courier last week (just like old times) for approval for the extension. Maybe we'll all meet up in Montreal.
