Awwwww, shucks as I move the rock on the ground.

Thanks hon, and yes, I have been waiting for so long, many a times especially now that I have to have the second op, I wi**** could have all been done the 1st time around.

I know it was safer to do it this way, but still it would have been nice to have it all done at once, but ces't la vie.

God willing I will come through this with flying colors and finally be a normal size person.

I have a question, what is a normal size person, lol.

Gagner told me that because my op was a 2 parter, that my weight loss will be much slower and he said it could take up to 18 + months before I've lost all my weight.

In some ways that is good, maybe my skin won't hang so much, then again I still have a long wait to get to goal...............

Awww, well at least I'm getting it done, lol.

I am kind numb about all of this, at first I was terrified, now it is huhh, no biggy, lol. Once the time starts getting closer, watch out I will be freaking, lol.  Hope I won't drive you guys all crazy as I go through my crazy time, lol.

Hugs,
Nancy

No stupid, not at all, that is what were all here for.

DS is for the Duodenal Switch. Here  is a link so you can check it out if you want.  Basically the DS is done in 2 parts or at least it was for me due to safety reasons.  The sleeve is the 1st part and the re-routing of the intestines is the second part. Some people had the DS in one operation, but do to my medical problems, Dr Gagner thought it best to do it in two parts.

There is also the DS.com  I think and it is run by people who have had the DS.

Your not far from Cornwall, I used to live in Summerstown about 30 yrs ago, give or take.

Your more than welcome to follow me, but there is another Cornwallite who is having the DS as well she is Penny she wrote before me, little sneak, lol.

Are you considering WLS and if so, have you decided on what you would like to have or are you just beginning?

Thank you for your kind comments,

Hugs,
Nancy

Wow, you have your hands full and congrats on the twins.

Is it possible for you to go to Hamilton to have the surgery or even Humbler in Toronto to have your surgery?

I don't want to scare you, but do your research, ask questions, people on here are great for that.

I may be wrong and I'm sure others on here will chime in (no flaming please), but make sure you do your research. Ask this board there great at responding to people.

I haven';t been watching the news on Ottawa lately, but I know from talking to a few people that they are green as in rookies. Even my GP refers everyone she can to Toronto or Hamilton........

And who knows, Ottawa may have some new doctors in, but I'm not sure.............

I know if my daughter decides to have the sleeve, I'm taking her to Hamilton. If I could afford it, she would go to Gagner.

I may be tainted due to the loss of a friend that may or may not have been related to the surgery, but I know had the doctors there know what they were doing, well.......who knows.

Again, I suggest you do your research, ok.......

Hugs,
Nancy
