I am going through Hamilton and I have my surgery on May 30th.  I met with the internist back in March so you are getting close.  You should have your surgery sometime before the summer is over.

Hi, and welcome.

St. Joe's is great.  Krista (the main receptionist) is great!  She's really friendly and will be as helpful as she can.

The first thing I can recommend is get there early.  The main parking lot on Charleton is closed, so you'll  need to park somewhere else and walk a bit.  If you go down Hughson St (which is directly opposite the entrance of the main parking) there is a lot there, but it fills up quickly.  You may have to park on a side street and walk a bit.

Make sure you've had your bloodwork done before Monday, since she'll need to see the results.  Generally, she'll just talk with you, find out what you're mindset is, what you know/don't know about the surgery, etc.  It shouldn't take more than 15 min or so.

Have you had any other appts yet?  If not, you'll still need to see the nurse and dietician (or NUT as some call her - nutritionist).

You won't get your next appt(s) right then and there, but Krista will call you shortly (sometimes that afternoon).

My timeline is in my sig below .... BUT I got thru quickly because I told Krista I was available for cancellations.  Otherwise, I wouldn't have had my 1st appt yet.  I know I was lucky, and I am grateful for it.

If you need any more info, just ask!

Good luck.

Beth

Hi Beth,

Thanks for your reply.  I have had a few appointments now.  I met with the dietician, nurse and social worker on the 4th of May.  My scope was done on the 13th of May and I am seeing the internist on the 30th of May so things are moving along a bit quicker now.

Keep in touch would love to here how things are going!!!

Best of Luck to you as well!!1
