yep spring sounds right.. sorry... I know its hard.. I have been waiting since July and to find I will wait till "late fall" is what the clinic said its hard..
ets:.. you may want to get an upper GI and an abdominal ultrasound done... they will tell you that at the orientation

My orientation was last August and I haven't been called yet for my surgeon's appointment. I've heard I should be meeting the surgeon in June, so possibly a July surgery. That's about 11 months since orientation and 17 months from referral.
Spring does seem like pretty reasonable guess if your timeline ends up similar to mine. Sorry I don't have better news for you.

Ya hate to say it, but Spring sounds right. I was referred June 2010, Orientation Dec 2010, 1st app'ts Mar 2011, 2nd app't and yellow book May 2011. I now wait for the surgeon app't which I was told would not be until Fall. So I am hoping that I will have surgery before the end of the year!!
The wait totally sucks but I know it will be worth it!! Good luck with the wait...

I was referred in November 2009. I had orientation in May 2010.
My surgery was just this past March. The wait time was long and frustrating, but it really gave me a chance to get my head on straight and prepare myself emotionally and mentally for the changes that were going to happen.
I feel fairly well adjusted to my new lifestyle, and I'm not sure I would have been if I'd been able to get surgery in 6 months, like I was initially hoping.
The time seems slow now, but it's really only a drop in the pond. Use this time to take care of yourself.

Started process June 2009, had surgery Feb 2011- went through Guelph
had lots of time to think and be fully prepared about the surgery. doesn't mean I still don't have questions, they are just different question now. had lots of time to be true to myself and think if this is what I truly wanted. Went into surgery with no doubts, no nerves, no last meal syndrome and comments from the clinic that I was truly prepared for surgery and fully accepting of the challenge ahead of me and the possibility of complications afterwards.
