Would you do it all over again?

I used to wake up every morning wondering if I could control my food cravings and intake.. . . . . I felt chaotic and panicked.  Now, I wake up knowing that  I have a tool that will help me get through the day relatively calmly.  This surgery has brought me a lot of peace.  Don't get me wrong. . . .I struggle with the same weight issues that I had before surgery but they are less intense and easier to cope with.

I do not regret any moment of my weight loss surgery.

I would do it again in a heartbeat.  Even with the complications i had i would still do it all over again.

I would ABSOLUTELY do it again, if I needed to!

I couldn't control my eating and had out of control cravings. Now, life is MUCH better, I'm not hungry like I was before surgery. :D

Yes! Absolutely! I will say that i had trouble believing that I wouldn't be hungry, but it really is true. And watching the kids eat their Easter candy, and only having only a tiny portion of Easter dinner didn't bother me one but. It's amazing really! I'm so happy!

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

Most people around here usually only have one regret: not doing it sooner!

The 5 Year Ago Me:
-didn't get off the couch much
-complained if I had to walk across the parking lot (rather than get the closest spot)
-stayed home A LOT
-was headed towards heart attack land (My mom has a massive heart attack at age 59).
-was around 290 lbs

The Now Me:
-has lost 130+ lbs
-I walk half marathons and am now running 5Ks
-I play floor hockey, coach swimming, basketball and baseball.
-I'm never home!
-no medication and all levels are pretty normal :)No health issues.
