Surgery with BMI over 50?
No, no initial appointment yet at all. I've counted four folks on OH in the last few weeks alone who applied long after me and have got their initials at HRRH.
I have an appointment with my endo in a little over a week. If I haven't heard from them by then I am going to ask him to put in a second referral for me.

I don't think the BMI is a factor really. My BMI was 63 at the beginning of this process and he asked me to try and lose 60lbs. He said it is just easier if you do because you need to shrink the fat around your liver. So in the first week, I lost 22lbs on the Optifast and my BMI is now 60. I have Dr.Hagen and he seems to be the one to deal with larger people. As he told me it's not impossible, just easier with a lower BMI.
I had a BMI of 64 when I started(down to 49 now) and it was never an issue> I think it more depends on how many co-morbidities you have really. What does everyone else think?
