Topic: How long til you could really go back to work?
Hi -
I am scheduled to ave my surgery on Wed. Sept. 15th and planned to be back at work the following Monday.  Is this realistic?  I am in sales in the construction industry so I am carrying tools around (some that way up to 20 lbs) and walking all over construction job sites.

I am getting the gastric sleeve.  In your experience - how long til you are REALLY back to 100%??

Thanks,
Mias Mom

Topic: Plastics scheduled!!
I decided to go with Dr. Sawan.  Dr. B really recommends him and he has done several WLS patients including some that frequent this board.  I'm scheduled for Oct 28th.  I feel much like I did when I was waiting for my WLS, excited and scared to death at the same time.

Mostly I am afraid of being inactive for several weeks.  Being cooped up in the house and inactive equals depression which is a recipe for me to turn to food.  I may be on this board alot during that time frame!!

My sweet hubby is doing great with his new pouch and has already lost 55 lbs.  Wow!!  I hope to end around 145 but honestly if I never lost another pound I can't complain.  Dr. Sawan said my skin could weigh 10 to 12 lbs.  I'm pushing to lose 10 lbs in the next 2 months so that I will end up where I want to be.

This week I am the speaker for the OU Women's Health Symposium.  ME!  Who would have ever thought I would have anything to do with women's health! So much has changed in my life!!  Thank you Dr. B. for my sleeve!

Topic: RE: Is it worth it?
I have wondered the same thing - like - wow.... This is alot of money to just lose some weight.  Then I look at Mia and know that this is the best thing I could EVER do.

I know you won't fail.  I know this because you are the most dedicated friend I have ever met in my entire life.  It's why you are my VERY best friend.  And I know you will be ALL OVER ME to make sure I stick with the program and giving me the encouragement, support, and advice I need to make it work.  This means you will be hearing it all while you are telling me.

I promise to help you through this and I know that if we stick together - we can do it.  We got Fat together - now we can get skinny together.

Believe in You - I do.....

Love ya Sis.

Topic: Dr. Roller - now a Center of Excellence
Hello all.  Just wanted to share the exciting news.  Dr. Roller and his practice in Fayetteville, Arkansas, have received the prestigious recognition of becoming a "Center of Excellence".  This is the only Center of Excellence in Northwest Arkansas, and only the second Center of Excellence in the State of Arkansas.  Fayetteville is less than 90 minutes from Tulsa.  This may be a great option for those of you Oklahomans who are looking for a surgeon and a program who perform at the highest level.

If you need more information about Dr. Roller and his weight loss surgery practice,  you can go to www.rollerweightloss.com , or call 479-445-6460.

Topic: What did you take to the hospital?
Hi-
I am scheduled for my surgery on Wed. Sept 15th.  For those of you who have done this - especially at the Weightwise Clinic:
What did you take to the hospital?
Were you able to wear your own undies and a nightgown?
Did you have someone with you while you were there and did they spend the night?
What did you stock your pantry with before you went to the hospital?

Just wondering how to prepare - I am a planner and am getting SO pumped!!

Thanks for all your help!
