Yes I meant we are "looking" for a support group lol. That would be awesome, I'm really surprised as big as the area is that there isn't a support group already. Thank you so much for doing what you are doing, please do keep us informed, my wife and I both will be apart of your group for sure, we really need it bad.

It feels like forever but when you finally get approved, things move fast. I had to do a 6 month diet then waited 1 month for them to deny me because of hospital choice and then another month to approve me for a hospital 110 miles from home. Good old Cigna.

Huh? Did you mean you are looking? There isn't anything yet in Tulsa but I just became OH support group leader approved and plan to start one here after completing training in October. We need one bad here and I think there are a lot of us looking for local support.

Once I met all the insurance requirements and jumped through their hoops, we summitted the final paper work and it took about 4 weeks.

Thank you for the kind words and welcome backs..
to answer why I did not get the surgery before, I lost my medicaid due to finances... I had completed everything and was waiting on the doctors office to do thier part which they never did do.
Please everyone keep me in your prayers that this time I will be able to have the surgery and that I dont loose my sanity going through all the steps again, also please pray for my health.

My wife and I just moved to Tulsa a couple weeks ago and we are looking for a support group to attend. We both had RNY, I had it almost 4 yrs ago and my wife had it 18 mo ago. So far all I can find are support groups that are surgeon sponsered and you have to be a patient there, our support group was in Springfield, MO which is a bit far to drive each month lol. Any help would be very much appreciated!
