Topic: How long did you have to actually wait for your surgery after insurance approval
My insurance approved me for the surgery two weeks ago. Now I have to go through a pre-op appointment on Wednesday and then I get to pick a surgery date. I wanted to know how far away do you have wait for your surgery after your pre-op visit with the surgeon?
I'm so excited I can't sleep at night.

Topic: RE: Is it worth it?
My life will never be the same. I love Dr. Walton and the staff. Posting on the message board was a big key to my success. If I had questions, concerns, highs and lows, the people on the board were there to give me answers and encouragement. Good luck.

I was confused about the same thing and I googles what the nut req is for post of RNY'ers. I forget now what the formula was. I myself now at almost 17 months out try to not go above 1000 cal a day and no more than 30 carbs ( I dont always make that happen)
I think your Nut or Surgeon would be your best bet for the info.
Good Luck

I am 4 months out and I have no idea how many caloriesor carbs I am supposed to be eating at this point. I just recently got scoped and they stretched some scar tissue in my pouch so now its easier to eat. Now that it doesnt hurt I am afraid I will over eat! I am planning on making an appt. with my NUT but Id apperciate any input until then.
Topic: RE: Dr. Broussard
I didn't use Dr. B, but my doc is Dr. Walton, and Dr. B assisted in my surgery. I did have the opportunity to see him for one of my appts. pre-op, and in my opinion both Dr. Walton and Dr. B are the best in Oklahoma! I wouldn't go to anyone else!!

Topic: RE: How to start when on medicaid. Pleas help!
I would recommend contacting your Case Worker for the actual requirements for surgery. I would contact the state to find out....get the requirements in writing (pick a copy up, or have it mailed to you, or is it on their website?). This way you KNOW.
Another idea is to contact a Bariatric Surgeon who takes medicaid and ask to be steered in the right direction on the requirements.
I dont know about any Support groups for people who are going through a pre-approval process for Medicaid specifically, but there are certainly support groups statewide that may be helpful to you. I can help you with ones around OKC, For Tulsa support groups, others may need to chime in with suggestions.
Hope this helps!
