Hey John!!!!  Yea!!  I'm not alone!!!!!  I did my first day today and it went great.  It was actually kind of a relief to not have to worry about what to eat or make choices, you know?  Anyway, I am thrilled that I stuck with it and have one day down.

That video at the memorial is so funny, I have huge glasses, big hair, and big body!  I keep asking them to let me re-do that but they won't.   We had a ton of school groups there last week.  I spoke to an Edmond middle school and saw lots of buses for other schools there.

We can do this!  Yea for us realizing the need and correcting things before they get out of control.

Welcome back Sherrie.  I haven't been around here in years, but I remember you from "back in the day"  I even went to some of the WLS dinners that were SOOO fun!!

What seminar did you go to?

This sounds like EXACTLY what I need...  This is the exact reason why I logged on to OH today!!  I have fallen back into some bad habits, gained a few pounds and do NOT want to gain any more!!

I'm embarrassed to go back though too.  I'm embarrassed to get my blood work done!!  I have been bad about taking my vitamins too :(

It's gonna take a lot to get me to make that call.  I think I'm going to try to do something on my own first.

THANKS everyone
Dot

Seems like we have a had a lot of great weather this Autumn in Oklahoma. Take advantage of those days. You will love Dr. Keith.  Find a walking buddy. It's so much easier and the time goes by faster when you have someone to encourage you on.

Hello, everybody! This is Pam in Enid and I'm scheduled for my bypass with Dr. Keith on November 8th. Everything is going OK, but I still have seven pounds to lose to meet Medicare requirement of 20 pounds lost before surgery. I walk everyday, but wonder what I will do after it gets too cold and wet out and I hate the cost of gym membership. Am I being a pansy? Should I scoff at the weather and exercise outdoors anyway? Thanks for whatever input you can give me.

Amy,

After sliding into really bad habits and gaining back almost 40 pounds over the last year, I'm on my third day of the reboot diet- I'd be honored to work it along with you!  I'm having trouble with the exact timing, but doing OK with the lack of "real" food...  It's just been a struggle to pay attention to when I'm actually physically hungry.

Best of luck with your ride!

John

PS - I was on a field trip with my son to the Murrah Building museum last week.  If I hadn't heard your voice in the videos, I would NEVER have recognized you.  You look great!

well, I am fairly new to the whole thing, but I check in here almost every day.  Still undecided between the VSG and the RNY.  So torn between them, really having a hard time deciding!

39 lbs pre surgery weightloss... slowly, but surely getting there!

Topic: RE: I'm on the losers bench but I've been bad
It's been a year for me and I've reached the point where I allow myself good sugar free dark chocolate on occasion. However, I asked my husband to put it away and he gets me a piece after dinner when I want one. That way, I know I'll only have one.

The best things I did for myself were work on head issues with a psychologist before the surgery, attend support group meetings 2x per month, read about healthy eating, increase my activity level and follow my doctor's eating plan. You don't have to do it all at once, but you should have some spare time that was previously used for acquiring food, consuming food, thinking about food, cooking, etc. Now you'll need to replace those habits with new habits.

Best wishes!
