Yea John!!!!  I am on day 3 now of the diet and down 5 lbs (of what I had gained - yuck).  It is a very simple approach but its working for me.  All you have to do is make an appt with a weight wise nutritionist and I don't think it matters if you had your WLS with them or not.  They put you on a diet which consists of eating a supplement every 2-3 hours.

My confession: Last night I have 3 bites of Randy's hamburger patty with some cucumber slices and yes I felt that restriction loud and clear so I am very happy that my sleevie still works.  I resisted the urge to keep eating and this morning was down another pound.

Good morning all,

Judging from your profile pics, I"m pretty sure that none of you are priests, but I'm here for confession anyway...

I have been following the re-boot plan from WeightWise very diligently since last week, but I took a detour off the plan last night...  We had friends over for Monday Night Football, and instead of my shake for dinner, I had some steak, sauteed mushrooms, and even part of a baked potato.    Then I got wrapped up in visiting and watching the ball game and never even got on my treadmill yesterday.
On the up side, after having basically no "real" food for that many days, I found out that my sleeve still works.  I became full very fast, so I didn't eat that much, but it was definitely not on the plan...

I am back on plan this morning, so hopefully the detour won't send me too far off track.  According to my scale, I am down 9 pounds from last Monday when I went in to Chris, the dietitian at WeightWise, so I'm pretty pleased with the progress, so far!

John

PS - when I stopped for coffee (officially sanctioned by Chris for one cup a day..) this morning, they gave me a free Hostess Cupcake, which has been one of my favorite sweet treats for my WHOLE life, but today, it really didn't interest me - I took it for my son to have as an after school snack, but it just didn't tempt me... I feel like that's a small victory right there!

Thanks for letting me take up time and space with my confession.  I'll go and try to sin no more.

Topic: RE: Question in the Tulsa Area
Thanks so much for your suggestion.  This is my 2nd week in Tulsa and I have been researching gyms but didn't see this one.  I was disappointed with Golds as I really liked their class schedule as I love step and zumba, etc... but they won't even offer a membership to a non-resident.  They have a "deal"  $50 per week....  WHATEVER..  not much of a deal.. I pay $12 per month for 24hour fitness in california, but I've been a member for 20 years.

So.. I am going to check this one out and planet fitness.  I kinda like this one better because it has classes.

Much appreciated!!  Happy workouts to you!

Topic: RE: Dr. Keith or Dr. Broussard? Bypass or Sleeve?
I had heard good things and constant bragging on Broussard. I called his office to see if they took my insurance and they flat said no.  Therefor I am checking into DR Keith because there is no way on earth I can afford outta pocket. I am a yr out due to insurance hurdles...so I have time to research..but that would be the first step I suggest..if you have to have ins cover it...there is no reason to invest time and money into a Dr that is not covered by ins. IMO..I have heard that the sleeve is easier to stretch out and regain..just what i heard. Plus..they remove part of your stomach..the rny is considered non reversable ...but in an emergency they can..nice to have that option IMO.

You just make an appointment with either Stephanie or Chris at weight wise and they go over the diet.  It reminds me of the aggresive weight loss diet I did before surgery.  So far I'm dong great on it.

Topic: RE: Support Group in the Tulsa area?
There are support groups here in town but I believe that they are connected to specific surgeons.  I would love to find another one to attend.

Please let me know when a new one is started here in Tulsa.

Topic: RE: Did anyone have their surgery at St Francis Hospital???
Hope your surgery went well.   Sorry I didn't find this post earlier.  I do believe that St. Francis has some type of payment plan.  I know that I've had to pay out bills there before.

Good luck with your weight loss journey.
