Topic: RE: Does anyone have bcbs insurance???
I  have BCBS of Texas and they covered almost everything except the phsych eval.   I went to an information meeting first and then to my PCP.  After getting his blessing I met with the surgeon (Dr. Kevin Fisher with Surgical Associates in Tulsa).  His group took care of getting the insurance approval.  Good luck and be patient.

I like Debbie have BCBS federal, they paid for me.  I also had the documented weight loss attempts.  I used Dr Gorospe.  I went to the Seminar in Sept 08 surgery 12/08.
I think you need to find a seminar and attend and start with that.  Good luck to you!!

I had Gastric bypass on 12/29/08.  I went to a consultation for a breast lift and tummy tuck today, Im so disappointed, there is no way I can afford this.
Has anyone had any success with insurance assisting with the procedures?  If so please let me know.

Topic: RE: Thanksgiving
That's my thinking, exactly. I'm not going to test the limits of my pouch, and I won't eat blindly or stupidly (not going to eat something that I know will make me dump) but I am going to have a taste of this and that! I refuse to obsess about food during this holiday!

I am not sure I am considered local, but I'm taking a taste of everything! I won't overdo it, but I want to enjoy a bite of each of my favorite things!

Topic: Thanksgiving
Just found this site for local sleevers!  Having a good journey so far (I'm about 8 weeks out)  Wondering what I am going to eat on Thanksgiving besides turkey.  I can live without mashed potatoes, but love stuffing and green bean casserole.  What are you all going to eat?
Hope you all have a nice Thanksgiving!

Topic: Pre Planning for Thanksgiving Week
Anyone have any super great tips they would like to share on how you plan to deal with family, friends and food over the long holiday weekend?

I'm personally going to do my Atkins Drinks for Monday - Wednesday this week and save up a few extra calories in case their is a surprise "carb" worth having a taste of this Thursday.   I am planning for 2 tablespoons of my sister's mashed potatoes and 1 teaspoon of the filling of her homemade chocolate cream pie--I'm not wasting my carbs on pie crust.

A family favorite healthy appetizer is stuffed (creme cheese, ham and green onions) mushroom caps that are baked in the oven at 350 for about 10 minutes. YUMMIEEEEE!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY OH FRIENDS....be safe, be smart and be WEIGHWISE :)
